Dear Crystal Styx,
I have been sticking for about 3 years now. I own a set of basic style stix. In my photo, I am at a local park where I like to styx. Sometimes I get an audience, but most of the time I am along. I like to teach others how to get started, especially family. I find that sticking is a great stress reliever for me. For my styx dance, I like to listen to rap or Drew Tretick on electric violin. I love Crystal Stix and hope to win your contest. I also have an idea for another style of stick if you’re interested.
Dear Janet and Bill,
I was so pleased to get your letter. I learned about styx at the Medieval Fair in my hometown of Sarasota Florida a little over a year ago and happened to pick up your newsletter there. It somehow made it over here with me and I’m really glad I found it. I am deploying to South West Asia for an exercise in August and I will be bringing m Styx with me. I’m getting a little better and I video and the video has helped me find my own ‘bubble’. I have sparked the interest of some of my soldiers while ‘styxing’ in my orderly room. It is still such a relaxing activity for me.
I’ve enclosed a photo of me with my styx. I hope you’ll send me a copy of your newsletter. I think I’ll enclose another order for some more styx for myself and a set for my First Sargent. Thanks again for the letter and the new hobby.

On behalf of the students of Stanley Switlik Elementary School, I would like to say “THANK YOU”! FOR DONATING THEE PAIR OF Crystal Stix to the D.A.R.E program.
As you can see by pictures, the kids love them. If you notice in the photo of the boys, there is a bag full of various playing balls left untouched while students stand around waiting for their turn on the Stix. I have to keep rehearting them to share.
Teachers have been known to get in on the action too. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for your wonderful gift to us.

When I first saw this product and the list of things it was supposed to help with, I was a bit skeptical… two sticks and a baton could transform my brain and body that much? I decided to give it a go, as I love a challenge, and boy were the claims correct. I started playing around with them for a few minutes each day and found it to be a very enjoyable activity! More challenging than it first appeared, I found myself pushing harder and harder to achieve new moves with the stix. I found that after using them for a few moments, my anxiety had calmed and I felt much more centered than the moments before. Each time I pick up the six, my body goes into an alignment that many other activities do not provide. I get a core workout- the stance really makes a difference, and I am able to clear myself of all worry and doubt and focus on a fun activity. I would recommend anyone to try this product to help balance emotions and energies that they have difficulty with on a daily basis. Super fun! My brothers and sisters even joined in on the fun and we have moments of taking turns seeing who can do the coolest tricks with them!
I bought my first pair of stix at the renaissance festival about a month ago. E also ordered your tape and had it shipped 2 day express. I sent with this letter my money order for the tape.
Am sorry that I didn’t get it off to you 2-days ago like I promised. I want to do something special for you to make up for it being late. So I am creating an illustration for you that you may with my permission, use as an advertisement for the stix. Frame it and place it on your wall, you may do what you like with it, it is a gift.
You have already given me a gift! And you didn’t even realize it!
About 5 years ago I was ran over by a trash truck. Almost half the bones in my body were broken, muscles ripped, nerves pinched. It took me about a year to learn how to walk again. I had 3 surgery and tons of therapy. Now, I am as close to 100% as I will get. I can walk like normal and everything!
The only problem that I have is that my body gets real stiff and painful all of the time. The doctors gave me exercises to do to loosen me up and relieve some of the pain, but it didn’t work very good!
For about 1 week after I received the stick, I practiced the tick-tock and got really good at it too. But I also started getting looser and the pain in my neck, back, and shoulder faded away! I use my six for about 30 min each day after work! I feel much better!
Thank you! If you hadn’t created crystal six, I wouldn’t be able to move as freely as I do today! This is why I am going to send you a gift! Thank you!
I am in illustrator for a living, it is what I do best. So I want to share my best with you! It will take me a few weeks to complete it as I am working on it at night after work!
You work the six with one controller! I have tried! Maybe one day I will be able to do it too!
I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE crystal six. My family and friends think I’m kind of weird for becoming sooo addicted to them, but I don’t care.
I picked up a set of six at the Kansas City reinvest in the fall of ’94. In ’95 I worked for Kaj in KC last year, and during the last week of the fest, I took Kaj’s place doing doubles in the parade. My best friend keeps thinking that I’ll get to a point and stop, but even after I got the doubles down, I kept finding new moves and even made up a few of my own that I never saw on the video. I LOVE THEM!! But I already said that. Well, my dad’s in the army and we had to move to ft. Campbell which borders Kentucky and Tennessee about an hour west of Nashville, and I’m really bummed that I can’t work for kaj again this year and I can’t seem to find six anywhere around here. I want to do something stix related. Is there a renfest near here that you sell stix in? Any stores? Any way that I could start selling stix somewhere? Anything. I just want to do stix somewhere. Also, where could I get fire stix. Kaja had said he would sell me a set, but at the time I didn’t think I was ready. I told him maybe next year but that isn’t really an option now and, of course, now I feel ready. Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks again for the greatest hobby toy or whatever you want to call it to come out, ever!
I just wanted to say what a great product your six are!! Janet sold me a pair last fall at the MN Renaissance festival, I didn’t use them much at first, but now hardly a day goes by that I don’t play with them! It was just like it said on your video, all of the sudden one day ya getting the groove, not quite as good as you guy’s yet but working on it! Anyways I see that the renaissance is just around the corner for us up here in the Northland. I was wondering if ya needed any help out at the fair this year?? If so I would be very interested I also have another friend who would be interested in helping also, He is the one who got me started with the stix. This might be an inappropriate for for this, if so I’m sorry, I didn’t know any other way of getting a hold of you. I was real happy to see the web page up, it has been on my mind for a while. What a great place to get the six known! Well, I must be off if you need any help down there dorp me a note, if not ill see ya at the fair,
I spoke with you on December 39 about Crystal Stix. I hope you will appreciate the differences between this set and other “devil stick.” The leather foils on the ends of the twirling baton are a patented design. The rubber covering on the six is similar to that used on tournament level table tennis paddles—providing friction and a cover that is safe to use around furniture. The core of the six is made of fiberglass, so they won’t break. The devil sticks I have seen in stores deserve to be called toys—they don’t work well and don’t last long. They are poorly balanced and difficult to learn without experiencing a lot of frustration — not fun.
Those distinctions and the skills in the enclosed teaching tape will show you why Crystal Stix deserves to be considered as sporting equipment rather than as a toy. I encourage you to learn to do play with the six. Let your kids and their friends play with them— with the help of the video. If you have more than one child, you will have an opportunity to teach them to share. They will like them enough to hog them. Skills develop quickly. I have seen immediate “skill” that is evident the ver first time someone picks them up. I am convinced that the attractiveness of this sport called “twirling” is that learning happens so quickly, it creates a fascination that borders on hypnotism
I teach Spanish in Bordentown, New Jersey. I use the stix in class as rewards for using the language. The kids cooperate well with me because I figured out a way to teach language using games and permission to juggle or to twirl. I can report that they will do practically anything I ask to get their hands on the stix. My father, 80, is learning to twirl, once you get into the movement, the being and stretching and rearing, twenty or thirty minutes can. Pass, you have a low impact workout. Twirling is a joyful exercise. Have you ever taken an aerobics class and felt annoyed about being ordered to move about a hundred times a minute? When I lift weights and strain into the lift, I feel pain and anger and I grunt. Tennis produces joy when unexpected shots go in, and pain—frustration and powerful anger when you smash an easy overhead into the net on an important point. Most of the sports produce feelings of elation and triumph when the team wins, and disappointment, anger or even hatred in defeat. But to twirl and move to music produces feelings of peace, triumph, and joy—8-endorphin production probably happens after about 20 minutes of use. Ever heard of a “twirler’s high?”
Take your time in testing the six. Our experience has shown just that kids between 10 and 14 are most attracted to them. Bur people of any age from and up get the bug. I was 50 before I found my first pair, and have mastered every skill on the tape except twirling to batons at once— and I will learn that with more practice.
I believe the crystal six juggling batons may be used as a rehabilitation tool. Following an injury, it is important to regain both joint and soft tissue function, the crystal six may be used to restore joint mobility and strengthen weekend musculature. They are excellent tools for improving proprioception and coordination, the crystal six help to enhance all the basic elements in orthopedic rehabilitation. I therefore recommend crystal six for the rehabilitation of selective orthopedic injuries.

To the wonderful crystal six people:
I wanted to tell you how much I love your six, I own 3 other pairs and the crystal six I have to say, they are my favorites, They give me the most control in changing direction on spins and tosses. They are wonderful. I recommend them to all my sticking friends. Even a lot of the non-players are getting into them. I’ve toured with my six and they comfort me and bring me peace wherever I am. The only thing that would make them better is if they glowed in the dark. I also was wondering if there was anything like a gathering for stigma if the is I’d like information on it. If not, there should be one! Anyway- I love crystal six and I just wanted to share that with you.
Crystal six are definitely this travelers friend.
Keep on smiling’, gratefully yours,
Hi my name is Christopher. I have recently bought a set of crystal six and I am a fan. I have a mental illness and I use them as a part of my therapy. They are a release of emotions and great stress relief. I use them every day and also incorporate them into my juggling activities also used in my therapy. I enjoy using them and I hope to hear from you soon.
Your fellow six player,
P.s. please tell me if there is a way for me to get a subscription to your news letter.
To whom it concerns, I (heart)my Crystal Stix!1 I’ve never been so addicted to a mental/physical game before. I haven’t gone a day w/o using them since i bought them. I (heart) to put on my speaker phone and play them while I talk to people!
Thanks, Tracey Z. Peddie (more than satisfied customer. P.S. Could you please send me a few extra order forms, Thanks!
Dear Bill, This brief note is to thank you for your generous contribution of a set of “Crystal Sitix. Your special effort in making them available is much appreciated. Your donation allowed Tu Casa’s children’s counselors to bring something new and entertaining to their sessions helping the children focus away from their pain while learning a new skill. With our extremely limited budget, your kindness means a great deal to us and we’d like you to know that with your help, we are able to make a difference in many people’s lives. Again, on behalf of victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse that we serve, thank you very much for your support. Sincerely, Kathy B Suazo Executive Director
WHAT ARE THEY DOING ON MAIN STREET? Drive down North Main Street almost any afternoon and when you get to the 3rd to 4th Avenue Block, you’ll see people actively “Claiming their Bubble.” What is that you say? Well, its a concept developed by Bill Vestal of Colorado involves the use of Stix , the hottest dynamic centering approach to self’development to come out of the Renaissance Festivals held around the country, “claiming your bubble is defining the area while keeping Stix in play. Endorced by the National learning Laboratory in Bethesda, Maryland, Crystal Stix developed by Bill Vestal in 1985 evolved from a long history of stick based games found in many societies from Cherokee Indians to China. Stix play is “self development through exuberance” according to Vestal. No batteries required! So next time you’re downtown to catch the action… if no one is playing on the street step into Touchstone Gallery at 318 North Main St. for a live or video demonstration of Stix. By the way you can purchase your set of Crystal Stix or Stickman Rythm Styx at Touchstone Gallery, the exclusive outlet in this area for both styles. Touchstone Gallery is open 9:30 to 6 Monday – Saturday.
