Vesta’s Transit of Sagittarius ~ The Ultimate Truth
Asteroid Vesta (devotion, purity, absolute focus) enters Sagittarius on January 14th, 2018. In this sign, her focus encompasses big-picture issues like trust, faith, truth and freedom.
This sign/asteroid combo can indicate devotion to a grand ideal. But Vesta’s focus always comes with limits, and when those limits are applied to concepts like truth and belief, there can be an all-or-nothing insistence on what’s right – one truth applies to everyone. You can see how this might not work, for everyone. Devotion to honesty is no bad thing, as long as you allow everyone to tell their story. Sagittarius was never about exclusion.
Vesta is not known for being flexible, so her fixation on an area of knowledge can become fanatical. The sacred ideal becomes the fuel that feeds the flame. This transit can trigger a non-negotiable vision of expansion and higher knowledge.
As Vesta moves through Sagittarius in your chart, consider if there’s a new area, or new belief, that’s capturing your attention. Maybe you pour yourself into a legal matter, or you become fixated on something you’re studying. Excellent for learning, or channeling your energy into something you believe in. However, if you (or someone else) starts insisting on a specific truth that leaves no room for opposing viewpoints, that’s your cue to take a step back. Is this the only version of the story? Is it even true? Vesta is the tunnel-vision asteroid, and concepts of wisdom and truth become distorted when you refuse to look at the entire picture.
Vesta will station Rx in Capricorn and then she’ll back into Sagittarius for a bit, where she’ll station direct and make her exit for good. The Sagittarius vision will be made official (official focus) in Capricorn, but when Vesta stations Rx, there will be a reason to go back and question what was learned. Be prepared to correct your focus.

- May 8th, 2018: Vesta Rx at 4 deg Capricorn
- Jun 13th, 2018: Vesta Rx reenters Sagittarius
- Aug 1st, 2018: Vesta direct at 22 deg Sagittarius
- Sept 17th, 2018: Vesta enters Capricorn
